Releasing the Tension

That Lives Between the Muscles

Fascia is the connective tissue that wraps every muscle, organ, and nerve in your body. It is a continuous web that's supposed to glide and stretch without you ever noticing it's there. When it doesn't, you feel it everywhere. Tightness that migrates. Pain that shows up far from where the problem started. Restriction that persists no matter how much you stretch, foam roll, or rest.

Myofascial Release Technique is designed precisely for this.

How It Works

This technique works by combining precise, direct pressure with movement rather than pressure alone. Dr. Mina locates the specific area of restriction, then applies tension at that exact point while guiding the tissue through its range of motion. As the muscle or fascia moves from a shortened to a lengthened position under that sustained contact, adhesions between tissue layers are broken up and normal glide is restored.

This is what separates it from a static stretch or a straightforward massage. The combination of targeted pressure and motion lets Dr. Mina address restrictions layer by layer, following exactly where the tissue is stuck rather than treating the area broadly.

What Myofascial release Treats

  • Chronic tension patterns from old injuries

  • Fascial adhesions following surgery or injury

  • Widespread myofascial pain

  • Frozen shoulder and joint restriction

  • Headaches originating in neck and jaw fascia

  • Low back pain with no clear structural cause

  • Restricted range of motion in the hips and shoulders

  • C-section and abdominal scar restriction

  • Pain that migrates or refers to unrelated areas

  • Chronic pain patterns that haven't responded to other treatment     .... and more

What to Expect

Myofascial Release is performed as part of your integrated treatment session at HealWorks. Most patients feel a deep stretching sensation as tissue releases, sometimes in an area that feels connected to, but different from, where the pain shows up. Some notice immediate changes in mobility and ease following their session. Full results build over a series of treatments as the fascial system reorganizes between sessions.
