perinatal CHIROPRACTIC CARE
IN MARINA DEL REY

From pregnancy to Fourth Trimester
Care for Every Stage of the Journey

The journey to motherhood is one of the most profound transformations a woman's body will ever undergo. From the moment you discover you are pregnant through birth and the vulnerable months that follow, your body is doing something extraordinary. It deserves care that honors that.

Dr. Mina is certified by the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association in Webster Technique to provide comprehensive perinatal chiropractic care that supports women at every stage of this journey. Not just when something hurts. From the very beginning.

Your Visit.
Your Body.
Your 45 Minutes.

Dr. Mina utilizes the Webster Technique, assessing the alignment of your sacrum and pelvis, the tension in your round ligaments, and the balance of the surrounding musculature that holds it all together. Where most prenatal chiropractic visits end there, Dr. Mina goes further. Your 45 minute session is intentionally designed to extend beyond the adjustment into the soft tissue work that makes it last. Our goal is for you to feel held, supported, and more connected to your transforming body than when you arrived.

trimester by trimester

Pregnancy changes everything. Your center of gravity shifts. Your pelvis widens. Your ligaments soften. Your nervous system is working harder than it ever has. And through all of it, your body is growing a human being.

Chiropractic care during pregnancy is not just about managing discomfort, though it does that exceptionally well. It is about giving your body the structural and neurological support it needs to do one of the most demanding things it will ever do.

Dr. Mina is Webster Technique certified, a specialized chiropractic analysis and adjustment protocol designed specifically for pregnant patients that balances the pelvis, reduces tension in the uterine ligaments, and optimizes the space available for your baby to grow and position naturally.

first trimester: a time to rest

The first trimester is one of the most significant periods of development in your baby's entire life. In these early weeks, your body is doing profound work, and we believe that work deserves space and reverence. At HealWorks, we intentionally do not begin chiropractic care during the first trimester. And when you arrive in your second trimester, we will hit the ground running together.

Second Trimester: Where We Begin

The second trimester is the ideal time to begin a structured prenatal care program. Your pregnancy is established, your energy has returned, and your body is beginning the physical changes that will continue through delivery. Starting care now means we lay the foundation early, before compensatory patterns have time to set in.

Regular chiropractic care during this trimester addresses:

  • Round ligament pain

  • Sciatic nerve pain

  • Mid and lower back pain

  • Pubic symphysis discomfort

  • Postural changes from your growing belly

  • Pelvic alignment to support optimal baby positioning

third Trimester: preparing for birth

As your baby grows and your delivery date approaches, chiropractic care becomes increasingly valuable. Weekly visits in the final weeks of pregnancy help maintain pelvic balance, reduce the tension that can contribute to a longer or more difficult labor, and support your baby's ability to move into the optimal position for birth. â€‹

Postpartum
& Fourth Trimester Care

Birth is not the finish line. It is a transition.

The fourth trimester, the first 12 weeks after delivery, is one of the most physically demanding periods of a woman's life. And it is the most underserved. Everyone focuses on the baby. But your body has just undergone a seismic event and it needs real, intentional support to heal completely, not just adequately. Dr. Mina provides comprehensive postpartum care that meets you where you are, whether you delivered vaginally or by C-section, whether you are 6 weeks postpartum or 6 months.

Dr. Mina offers a structured fourth trimester care program designed to support your complete recovery.

The program includes:

  • Comprehensive postpartum assessment

  • Pelvic realignment and stabilization

  • C-section scar tissue release (if applicable)

  • Diastasis recti assessment and rehabilitation

  • Nervous system regulation and vagus nerve support

  • Functional movement retraining

  • Transition planning into monthly wellness care

You grew a human. You deserve more than being told you are cleared at 6 weeks. You deserve to feel like yourself again — fully, completely, and for the long term.

Vaginal Birth Recovery

After a vaginal delivery, the pelvis, sacrum, and surrounding soft tissue have been through significant stress.

Common postpartum presentations include:

  • Pelvic misalignment and instability

  • Sacroiliac joint dysfunction

  • Diastasis recti (separation of the abdominal muscles)

  • Pelvic floor weakness or dysfunction

  • Lower back and hip pain

  • Postural strain from feeding, carrying, and sleeplessness

  • Nervous system dysregulation and postpartum anxiety

Dr. Mina's postpartum care addresses these, not as isolated complaints but as expressions of a body that needs comprehensive support to rebuild.

C-Section Recovery

A C-section is major abdominal surgery. The healing process involves not just the incision but the layers of fascia, muscle, and connective tissue beneath it, and the scar tissue that forms as the body heals. That scar tissue, if left unaddressed, can create adhesions that affect pelvic mobility, core function, and bladder health.

C-section scar tissue release begins when you are cleared for bodywork, typically around 12 weeks postpartum. Dr. Mina uses gentle myofascial release and specialized scar tissue techniques to:

  • Restore mobility and sensation to the scar and surrounding tissue

  • Release adhesions affecting the pelvis and core

  • Reconnect the nervous system to an area that often feels numb or disconnected

  • Reduce the risk of long-term complications from untreated scar tissue
