Therapeutic Exercise

The Work That Happens Between Your Visits
An adjustment restores alignment. Soft tissue work releases restriction. But without retraining the movement patterns, muscle activation habits, and postural tendencies that created your pain in the first place, the problem returns. Because your body defaults to what it knows. And what it knows is what hurt you.
Therapeutic exercise at HealWorks is the bridge between treatment and lasting change. It is the part of your care that travels with you into your daily life, your workouts, work, pregnancy, recovery and ensures that the work Dr. Mina does in the treatment room holds long after you leave it.
never one-size-fits-all
The exercises prescribed at HealWorks are chosen specifically for your body — your imbalances, compensations, history, goals, and the stage of healing you are in.
For the prenatal patient they address the pelvic instability, postural shift, and muscle lengthening that pregnancy demands. For the postpartum patient they rebuild core integrity, reconnect inhibited muscles, and restore the neuromuscular patterns disrupted by birth. For the athlete they correct the dysfunctional movement patterns that led to injury and rebuild the foundation for performance. For the chronic pain patient they retrain the nervous system's relationship with movement, gradually expanding what the body believes it can do safely.

The Role of Movement in Healing
Movement is not just rehabilitation. It is medicine. Research consistently demonstrates that targeted therapeutic exercise reduces pain, improves joint health, supports hormonal balance, enhances nervous system function, and is one of the most powerful interventions available for long-term musculoskeletal health.
At HealWorks, therapeutic exercise is not an afterthought prescribed at the end of a session. It is an integral component of your care plan progressed intentionally as your body heals, adapted as your needs evolve, and always connected back to the larger goals of your treatment.
What to Expect
Dr. Mina introduces therapeutic exercises progressively, beginning with the foundational movements your body needs to establish stability and neuromuscular control, then building toward strength, mobility, and functional performance as your healing advances.
Exercises are provided in a format you can follow at home, with clear guidance on sets, reps, frequency, and what to watch for as you progress. Check-ins at each visit allow Dr. Mina to assess how your body is responding and refine your program accordingly.
